Magnetic pump is a common and widely used pump product. The steel used for magnetic pump bearings is high carbon chromium bearing steel. The smelting of high-quality bearing steel is achieved through vacuum deoxidation, electromagnetic stirring, and low oxide content. It can withstand both high contact compressive stress and high tensile stress. After heat treatment, the hardness of the shaft raceway is 58-62HRC.
If there are cracks or heavy wear on the surface of the magnetic pump shaft, which will affect the strength of the centrifugal pump shaft, a new shaft should be replaced. If the pump shaft is slightly bent or worn, or if there is a hook, it should be repaired. So, what are the repair methods for the magnetic pump shaft?
1. Repair of Magnetic Pump Neck Hook and Wear
The pump shaft neck using sliding bearings is usually repaired by electroplating, copper plating, or stainless steel plating due to poor lubrication or lubricating oil containing iron filings, sand particles, etc., which can cause scratches or grooves on the pump shaft neck, as well as wear on the rubber guide bearing. Then, the standard diameter is machined by using a car or grinding method.
2. Repair of bent magnetic pump shaft
For pump shafts with smaller diameters, copper sheets can be placed at the bending points and struck with a hammer to straighten them; For pump shafts with larger diameters and less severe bending, a screw corrector can be used to straighten them.
3. Repair of magnetic pump keyway
If the surface of the keyway is rough and not severely damaged, a file can be used to polish it. If the damage is severe, the old groove can be welded and repaired, and a new groove can be opened elsewhere. However, for pump shafts with high transmission power, a new shaft must be replaced.
4. Repair of Magnetic Pump Shaft Thread
When the thread damage at the end of the pump shaft is minor, a mixed file can be used to repair the damaged thread before continuing to use. If the damage is severe, first reduce the end of the pump shaft, then press a sleeve and thread the sleeve; Alternatively, electric or gas welding can be used to weld the pump shaft end thread and then turn the thread.
