Fault and solution of multi-stage pump

A multi-stage pump is a combination of the inlet and outlet sections and the middle section through a pull rod. His output water pressure can be very high, which is a type of centrifugal pump that relies on the rotation of the impeller to obtain centrifugal force and material. When the gas density reaches the working range of the mechanical vacuum pump and is extracted, a high vacuum is gradually obtained. A multi-stage pump is a centrifugal pump that can achieve suction, compression, and exhaust by changing the volume of the pump chamber. Therefore, it is a variable volume centrifugal pump.

Fault 1: The water pump does not absorb water, and the pressure gauge and vacuum gauge pointers jump violently

Reason: 1. Insufficient water injection 2. Leakage at the connection between the pipeline and the instrument 3. Excessive suction head

Solution: 1. Check if the bottom valve is leaking water. 2. Tighten the leaking area. 3. Reduce the suction height

Fault 2: The water pump does not absorb water. The vacuum gauge indicates a high degree of vacuum

Reason: 1. The bottom valve is not open or blocked. 2. The suction pipeline has too much resistance. 3. The filter is blocked

Solution: 1. Check the bottom valve 2. Replace the water suction 3. Clean the filter

Fault 3: The pressure gauge has pressure but still does not release water

Reason: 1. The resistance of the outlet pipe is too high. 2. The rotation direction is incorrect. 3. The outlet pipe valve is not open. 4. The impeller is blocked

Solution: 1. Check or remove the short water pipe. 2. Check the motor. Two phase mutual adjustment. 3. Open the outlet valve. 4. Clean the dirt inside the impeller

Fault 4: Unable to reach the design flow rate

Reason: 1. Air is being sucked in. 2. Due to the decrease in water level, the submergence depth is not enough. 3. There are foreign objects blocking the impeller. 4. The rotor is severely worn

Solution: 1. Check the leaking area and eliminate it. 2. Extend the suction pipe and deepen the flooding depth. 3. Disassemble and remove foreign objects. 4. Replace the sealing ring

Fault 5: Pump consumes too much power

Reason: 1. The packing is pressed too tightly and generates heat. 2. The flow is too large. 3. There is friction between the rotating body and the housing. 4. The pump bearing is worn. 5. The pump shaft is bent

Solution: 1. Relax the packing pressure appropriately. 2. Reduce the opening of the gate valve. 3. Adjust the position of the rotating body and housing. 4. Replace the bearing. 5. Replace or correct it

Fault 6: Increased pump vibration

Reason: 1. Local blockage in the impeller 2. Impeller damage 3. Low flow rate 4. Pump shaft and motor not concentric 5. Bearing damage 6. Air ingress and cavitation

Solution: 1. Disassemble and remove foreign objects 2. Replace the impeller 3. Slightly open the outlet valve 4. Align the fixed point 5. Change the suction position to improve water absorption
